At Richardson Smith Architects we understand how important good initial planning is for the success of a project. We have found over the years that clients often come to us needing help with evaluating whether a given project is feasible, or the range of possibilities that a potential project may involve. Our consulting work has included projects of all types and scales. We have produced feasibility studies showing varied strategies for the development potential of a site. This work often includes critical planning criteria in order to meet local zoning and environmental regulations.

On a smaller scale, we assist clients who may be interested in purchasing and renovating an existing home. Our work here might involve evaluating the potential of the existing house, and possible addition, to meet the client’s program needs. A crucial aspect of this work is to determine whether the overall cost of the potential project falls into the client’s budgetary expectations, and developing strategies as to how a project may be phased over time.
