aldo Lamberti trattoria - philadelphia international airport - 2013

Interior Renovation

This project was for the design of a “takeout” eaterie on Concourse C in Philadelphia International Airport. Having worked for years with owner Aldo Lamberti on his fine dining restaurant in Cherry Hill, RSA was asked to design this new space as a trattoria, expanding his culinary establishments in the Philadelphia area.

There were three major aspects to our work. The first was the design of a custom angled glass display case to highlight the trattoria’s offerings. The design of the menu board, signage, and lighting were also crucial to the project to clearly advertise the food selections to potential airport customers. Most importantly, to further attract passers-by, the use of a bright color scheme was chosen for the project. As the trattoria’s main menu items were pizza, the outside wall of the pizza oven was clad in a fire red variegated ceramic tile.
